The stupidity that is the British people

Following up on my post last night I can't not mention today's top entertainment news story. When I heard the words "a mobile phone ring tone known as Crazy Frog has topped the British music charts" on Triple J this morning the first thought that came to mind was, "what complete fuckwits". Strong language I know, but this is a fairly dire situation - just what are British music consumers thinking? May I rebut?

I read this post early in the evening and had a little chuckle to myself. I agree that some music is just so perfect that lyrics completely spoil it (especially when sung less than perfectly - as I think Bill is suggesting might be happening in some cases). However, I've been listening to music with lyrics almost all evening and I fell it my duty to state that some vocalists produce such wonderful sounds that it's the music that gets in the way. The Shin Dig Social Group - A new website

Finally, I can release to the world the reason why I've been so slack at posting new material on this site. It's still only a pre-release and certainly not 100% finished but we want to get it out there so that we can get some feedback. http://www.theshindig.net/test-server/ Please keep in mind this site is still undergoing live development and you can expect that some features won't be implemented and there might be some instability. Bringing the tone down

The title doesn't lie; I'm going to talk about toilets (and celebrities). For many years now I've wondered why on earth people would have reading material in the toilet. I would estimate that at least 50% of domestic toilets in Australia have some form of reading material and it usually takes the form of trashy magazines (almost invariably old). I have also seen news papers, National Geographics, Readers Digests and romance novels. I can only come up with a few reasons as to why anyone would want reading material in the toilet.
