The stupidity that is the British people
Following up on my post last night I can’t not mention today’s top entertainment news story. When I heard the words “a mobile phone ring tone known as Crazy Frog has topped the British music charts” on Triple J this morning the first thought that came to mind was, “what complete fuckwits”. Strong language I know, but this is a fairly dire situation - just what are British music consumers thinking?
I’ve always questioned the intelligence of the general music consuming poplulace, I mean lets face it they’ve made some really stupid decisions in the past. Think:
- I Am Woman (Helen Reddy)
- I’d Do Anything for Love (Meat Loaf), and
- Blinded by the Light (Manfred Mann’s Earthband).
Or more recently (and worst of all, Australian):
- Me, Myself & I (Scandal’us), and
- What About Me (Shannon Noll).
And the list goes on. But seriously, this has taken it to another level.
I know very few people living in the UK but some of those people are my family. I’m fairly sure that neither Mum nor Dad would have contributed in anyway to this piece of filth reaching the number one spot. Nathan if you have I’d quickly destroy any evidence or expect my wrath when you return home - that goes for you too Hartley kids!
Please people, think before you buy. And if you’re just not sure then ASK SOMEONE WHO HAS DECENT TASTE IN MUSIC.
I wouldnt even think about buying that crap. I cant believe people actually spend their money on that stuff.
Totally agree with you.
Nathan
