What is wrong with you people?!? #2
I’ve just finished reading a whole bunch of newspaper articles about an incredible lack of intelligence shown by some Australians yesterday.
I’m completely stunned. I just can’t fathom what runs through the minds of people who participate in such horrible events. I’ve questioned before, why it is that people can’t seem to learn from past mistakes. I’m sure everyone’s heard of the common ethical test of questioning whether or not you would be happy with your picture and a story about what you’re doing on the front page of a news paper. Well, I really hope that the people on the front page of several national news papers this morning now realise what I horrible mistake they’ve made. If not, maybe some jail time might help…but I have doubts about that as well.
Summer Fun 2005
Saturday night went off pretty well, I think. We had about 23 people in the end, which is a pretty bloody poor turnout given the invite list had over 50 people on it.
In hind sight, I should have started the evening a little earlier. 6-6:30 would have been better than 7pm, and I probably shouldn’t have drunk quite as much. Most people had arrived by about 8pm which is when we started the BBQ…things after that start getting hazy.
I decided for some reason (probably so he didn’t feel left out) that it would be a good idea to ring Aidan. Unfortunately I drastically miscalculated the time difference. Remembering that California was -8hrs was all I could manage. It didn’t occur to me that this actually meant -8hrs GMT, and with Queensland being +10hrs GMT my approximate estimation of the time over there (mid-afternoon) was out by a good 10 hours…sorry dude. The fact that he was staying at Chelsea’s grandparents’ house made the phone call even less convenient and even more rude. Again, sorry.
Idiots
When will people learn that it’s a really, really stupid idea to climb over safety barriers and ignore warnings around ferocious, flesh-eating animals in zoos?
Lop sided and sparse, but really, really good!
All week we’ve been attempting to put up our Christmas tree, but it just wasn’t happening. We didn’t even get it out of the cupboard. Finally, tonight it’s up, though the whole process wasn’t without its problems. I think you’ll agree that for a tree with over half its branches missing it’s looking pretty good.
Laura, of course was very excited to be putting it up. Her mood then swung to annoyance because it wasn’t all there. Then onto hope that we could make it look good anyway. Then despair set in when she thought it couldn’t be done. I had to coax her through it, but finally she admitted it looks good. “Good!“, I said, “That’s an understatement!“
