Recently Skippy asked, 'why do you blog?' I was commenting on that and it got kind of long, so I thought I'd record it here. The short answer is, I don't know, and I'm not sure I need to know. But since this is all about figuring out the answer, I guess I'll play along.

After recently arriving back home from a year in the UK, I've been increasingly frustrated with the lack of availability and high price of books here in Australia. More than that, I didn't understand why there are no good online book retailers in Australia, even the good physical retailers don't have good online stores - none of them1.
