We have a new (quickly becoming resident) raving loony at the bus stop I get off and on¹ at every day. Last time I saw him he spent about 10 minutes espousing the evils and general dim-wittedness of Steve Irwin to us I wasn't brave enough to deny my agreement with his theories. Tonight when I arrived at the bus stop he was deep in a conversation with a couple of guys about random stuff.

Loony: Do you know what the cornerstone of society is? Slightly frightened guy: Money? Loony: Close, it's propaganda. See it isn't money in itself that's bad. You need to do something with it. Get all the money in the hands of a few powerful people and screw the masses. That's what it's all about.

In another snapshot of enlightenment we found out that the sun turns Hydrogen into Helium (I don't have any great problem with that - it's the next leap of faith I can't quite make) therefore "the endless stupidity of mankind" will be our downfall.

The really sad thing is that this guy seems like he might be at the very top of a slippery slope. I hope he can find a foothold.
